Who this kit is for: The Modern Upgrade Kits offer a more transparent, dynamic sound. Anyone who is tired of not being able to use the controls on your guitar effectively. This kit is also great for those who want to maintain clarity while rolling their controls down without increasing any brightness!! This kit is for anyone who has a bright/harsh guitar tone. This kit comes with SHORT SHAFT pots, which is appropriate for the following guitars: ALL GUITARS with the exception of all production Les Pauls® made since 1977. For owners of Historic Les Pauls®.
Please Note:All guitars manufactured in Japan, China, Indonesia and Mexico use metric pots (6mm), and have metric sized holes drilled for the pots. All pots sold by RS Guitarworks use standard pots and hole diameters (3/8"). Therefore, holes in the guitar, plates and/or pickguards will need to be enlarged to 3/8" to fit properly. Also, metric knobs will not fit the RS pot shafts; most popular knobs are available on the store in new and aged versions. Please call us for details or questions about installation.

This kit is the culmination of thousands of hours of research and development into different guitar electronics and how each of them affects the overall tone of the guitar.
What's in the kit:(2) 300K CTS Short Shaft Audio taper pots- This is the key to the magic of the Treble Tamer kit. The 300K pots are perfect for overly bright guitars or harsh pickups; they will really beef-up a bright guitar.(1) 500K CTS Short Shaft Audio taper pots- Audio taper pots work great for the neck tone control. With that in mind, we had CTS improve their stock audio taper pot by using much tighter tolerances.(1) 500K RS SuperPot™ Short Shaft- This is the same great pot that we use in our premium kit. In the Treble Tamer kit, we use the Super Pot for the neck volume control. (1) RS .022 GuitarCap®- The guitar cap is the first and only capacitor designed specifically for the guitar. This part is the only capacitor in the world that meets our stringent quality-control standards, not only because of its construction, but because of how great it sounds in the tone circuit!! The .022 microfarad GuitarCap® is best for the bridge position tone control of your guitar.(1) RS .015 GuitarCap®- This is the same great GuitarCap® as above, just in .015 microfarad. This is best used for the neck tone control.(1) Length Black wire- Used for the grounding in the circuit.
